Partel is involved in the construction process of two rapid build hospital extensions located in Ireland, by supplying the external product system that meets the building regulations in regards to the spread of fire.
The construction of a new public building demands the highest standards of both safety and durability. As part of the steel frame system structure, Partel EXOPERM™ MONO DURO 200, an advanced fire-rated membrane, was chosen and installed to address these challenges and also to provide a high level of fire safety that protects the structure by potential damages. It plays a significant role in its construction, contributing to the protection of lives at the new block of University Hospital Limerick.
The external envelope is fitted with 8000 square meters of EXOPERM MONO DURO 200 - which has a fire rating of Class B-s1, d0 according to EN13501-1. This UV stable, highly breathable membrane offers flame retardant performance combined with optimum airtightness for greater thermal efficiency, and long-term weather protection.
Partel product system includes also installation of 2000 meters of ECHOSeal non-combustible airtight tape for the facade, used to create permanent seals for EXOPERM™ MONO DURO 200.
Two 24-bed single room, ensuite blocks are scheduled for completion in July 2020 at both the main University Hospital Limerick (UHL), and on the site of Croom Orthopaedic Hospital in Co. Limerick.
They are going ahead as part of the Government’s National Action Plan in response to the Coronavirus crisis and involve a rapid build steel-frame system that facilitates an earlier start to construction work and a more streamlined process than would be possible with traditional builds.
